This question comes from Germany from Younes and the question is what the expression “he is on his last legs” means. What does it mean when someone says he is on his last legs. Well ,your legs is of course what you walk on and run on and when you say someone is on their last legs, you mean they are very sick, they are very ill and they are probably going to die soon if you say that about a person. My friend is on his last legs, he is very sick, he is probably going to die soon. You can also sometimes use it about a machine like “my television is very old, it’s on its last legs” means it’s going to stop working soon. That is actually a real example, because I have a very old television that I need to eventually replace, get a new one.
